It is Mr. Asao NakazawaCfrom the town of Biei in HokkaidoCwho has purchased the 300C000th tractor produced at New Hollandfs Jesi, Italy plant. A ceremony was held at Mr. Nakazawafs home, with the participants including HFT President•CEO Mr. Shibamoto, Mr, William T. Kennedy who is President of New Holland Agricultural Business, and Mr. Mattia Guida who is a CNH vice president whose responsibilities include CNHfs commercial relationship with Japan. A plaque commemorating the fact that this is a very special tractor was presented to the Nakazawafs, and a toast with Italian sparkling wine added to the celebration.
The town of Biei is located in a hilly district at the foot of Taisetsuzan mountain range. Most of the farming households in the area are engaged in the production of dry land crops, with an average cultivated area of approximately 22ha per household. Mr. Nakazawa, who produces wheat, potatoes, beets, and beans on his 33ha under cultivation, had been looking for a tractor that would ease the handling of his daily faming operations, especially weed and pest control which requires the tractor to make tight tums, and his purchase of the TN75S with a small turning radius was a good choice.
One of the driving forces behind Mr. Nakazawafs investing in a new tractor was his sonfs decision to be a successor to the family farm, which up until that point in time had been operated by only Mr. and Mrs. Nakazawa.
Mr. Nakazawa, who has expressed his pleasure with the wide range of vision and the ease of operation of the TN, hopes to expand his farm area dedicated to potatoes in the near future.
