Although significant damage has resulted from these recent disasters, the season has come for farming operations in the areas affected by the events. Many farmers are faced with difficult circumstances as their equipment, including tractors, was caught up in the flooding caused by the tsunami.

To help those farmers get back on their feet again, New Holland HFT Japan has urgently dispatched highly skilled service men taken from our nationwide field store network, and also unique service vans called “mobile workshops,” to the affected areas. Those emergency support measures started earlier this month.

In one instance, a team of emergency service men dug a tractor out from under debris, and thoroughly washed off mud and sea water in an attempt to revive the engine. After diligently working at the job for some time, the engine finally came to life again. The user was very glad to hear the sound of the engine, and was almost moved to tears.
